MARINA CAPDEVILA

Marina Capdevila is a Spanish artist and illustrator internationally recognised for her large-scale murals featuring elderly people, whom she portrays with humour, vitality and an irreverent attitude. Her work challenges stereotypes associated with ageing, turning her characters into symbols of freedom, optimism and a celebration of life.

A graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, she began her career in illustration before focusing her artistic practice on muralism. Her style combines highly detailed painting techniques with an intense colour palette and expressive compositions, in which portraiture takes on a strong emotional and narrative dimension.

Throughout her career, she has created murals and exhibited her work in more than 20 countries, taking part in some of the world"s most important urban art festivals. Her works can be found in cities across Europe, America, Asia and Oceania, and she has collaborated with cultural institutions, galleries and international brands, establishing herself as one of Spain"s most internationally recognised urban artists.

She currently continues to develop mural, painting and illustration projects from Barcelona, creating works that invite reflection on the passage of time, diversity and the beauty of human experience, always through an approachable, optimistic and deeply human perspective.
