LUKE SMILE
Luke Smile is a British artist specialising in lettering and contemporary muralism, known for his large-scale typographic compositions that merge art, design and urban culture. With a background in Graphic Design, he combines traditional sign-painting techniques with spray paint, stencils and paint to create works characterised by precision, depth and rich colour.
His work explores the emotional power of words, using phrases inspired by music, everyday life and personal experiences to convey positive messages, provoke reflection and create a direct connection with the viewer. In 2017, he developed “Smile Sans”, a three-dimensional typeface that has become his signature and appears in both murals and studio works.
Throughout his career, he has participated in prominent international urban art festivals and created murals for institutions, communities and brands in different countries. His interventions stand out for their vibrant colours, three-dimensional perspectives and a distinctive smiling-face icon that has become one of the most recognisable elements of his visual language.
He currently continues to develop mural projects, exhibitions and studio work from the United Kingdom, establishing himself as one of the leading figures in contemporary lettering and typographic art internationally.
